“Not a natural blogger, then?”

A relaxing setting featuring a cup of coffee, a fountain pen, and an open notebook on a wooden table.

Who Knows Where The Time Goes? Sandy Denny/Fairport Convention.

That’s a lovely earworm for this morning (makes a change from Rhinestone Cowboy. Which is probably yours now, as well. Sorry about that).

But seriously, 2026, what is the rush? What even happened to April? Ah, it’s the year of the Fire Horse – well, that was never going to be sluggish, was it?

So, “Not a natural blogger, then?”

This was a comment referring to the sporadic nature of my blogging. When my website was fresh and new, I’d planned to blog regularly, at least a couple of times a month. I expected to be brimming over with wordsthoughtsconceptseducationinspiration and suchlike, but I find that I’d rather use my energy elsewhere.

I’d rather put my energy towards keeping myself steady and open, so that I can be the best me for myself and for clients. I find that in yoga and QI Gong, in spending time with my family and friends, with horses and dogs, among books and trees, through learning new and interesting things. So that when someone’s sharing with me their breaking heart, or their hopes and dreams, I can be steady and settled being with them. Not listening/looking out for what might be useful for the next blog post.

There’s increasing pressure to be vigilant and visible online, on several social media platforms at once, with a real concern about missing an opportunity to gain followers. There can be, of course, big money in this. I try and unfollow or pause *before* my overwhelm kicks in.

So, no, not a natural blogger. And I’m okay with that.
