Sandstone and Granite – unexpected gladness July 2025

It lifts my heart when I come across unexpected gladness (and skill/artistry). This is Michael Disley’s piece The Gathering. Created in 2024, it stands in the gardens of Marchmont House, and has wonderful textures and stroke-ability. There’s another of his sculptures there, too, but I especially love this one. And it’s planted a little seed of whether I could try my hand at creating some sort of marker in stone.
